I miss this...

...but not as much as I anticipate this!

  1. It will be a great day when we have our proper home. We'll look back at the Buck Shaw days with an equal amount of pride, like having gone through a campaign, fighting hedgerow to hedgerow, so to speak, to reach that point. One thing that nags at me continually, however, is I've yet to see any rendering of what the supporters' terrace will look like. It's great to bring in the cash of those luxury suites. An absolute necessity, really. But not at the expense of our soul. When both the upper crust and hoi polloi are accomodated, I will rest easy. I remember that football is the sport of the 99%. :-)

  2. Cheers Mike - I agree it will be a great day.

At $350K I wonder which companies can afford that level of investment. I hope there might be one box that can be rented on a one off basis - might be fun with 22 of your best friends.

I hope the pictures I saw in the Merc come to fruition as far as visibility from the stands - it appears to be not too different from Buck Shaw in terms of distance from the field, but the front row looks higher - we'll see, eh?

As far as the supporters, I expect the Ultras will be behind the goal in the enclosed end - though I've seen nothing official on that - have you? There appear to be suites between the pitch and the terraces behind the goal too. A good idea? Anyway, there's a link to the suite brochure on the CenterLine Soccer site

I still hope that one day the opposite end will be enclosed, and the Ultras chants will swirl around the stadium. That would really be a cool atmosphere!

  3. Ha! Didn't scroll down on Centerline to see your comments there. I don't see prawn sandwiches in the brochure ;-)
